Tesla has always attached great importance to the Chinese market,underlining the country's efficient supply chain system and promising to introduce more intelligent products and technologies into the nation.
Grace Tao,vice-president of Tesla,said"China is not only one of the world's most important new energy vehicle markets,but it also features an open business environment,a complete supply chain system,and a rich pool of highly skilled talent."
She noted that Tesla's achievements in China were built alongside more than 400 Chinese suppliers,over 60 of which have integrated into Tesla's global supply chain.
"Currently,the localization rate of components at the Shanghai Gigafactory exceeds 95 percent,"she said."All this shows that the Shanghai Gigafactory is playing an increasingly important role in Tesla's global production and export network."
"Tesla's continued presence and investment in China also reflect the importance we place on this market,"Tao added.
As of March 2026,Tesla had opened 588 direct-operated stores across 119 cities in the Chinese mainland.The company has built and put into operation more than 2,500 supercharger stations and over 12,000 supercharger connectors.
"Tesla is not just an electric vehicle company—it is a technology company centered on AI,robotics and energy,"Tao said."In the future,we will continue to introduce more of Tesla's intelligent products and technologies to China to help build an abundant and extraordinary world."
