DAS Solar,a leader in n-type PV technology, has announced plans to build a 3GW solar panel factory in Mandeure,Doubs,France, with production scheduled to start in 2025.
A total of€109 million(836 million yuan)will be invested in three assembly lines at the 51,000 square metre site, formerly used by automotive supplier Faurecia(now Forvia). It will be one of the largest solar panel manufacturing facilities in Europe and a significant step in the company's global expansion.Last week,DAS Solar began recruiting for the new facility, which is expected to create between 450 and 600 jobs.
The European market has a strong demand for locally manufactured photovoltaic products and France was chosen over Germany and Spain due to strong local support. In addition to module production,DAS Solar plans to expand the entire photovoltaic industry chain in the future, including the production and outsourcing of solar cells, cables, connectors and wafers.
DAS Solar currently has 14 factories in China with a combined production capacity of 55GW and employs 8,900 people.
